The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) Health and Wellness Committee remains committed to promoting the mental, emotional, and physical health, wellness, and safety of coaches, students, and athletic directors nationwide.
Recognizing the increasing demands placed on interscholastic athletics professionals and student-athletes, the Health and Wellness Committee is dedicated to providing accessible support resources, encouraging meaningful community collaboration, and sharing best practices that foster safe, healthy, and sustainable athletic environments.
The Committee’s work focuses on:
Mental and Emotional Health Support: Advocating for awareness, education, and access to resources that promote resilience, stress management, and emotional well-being for coaches, student-athletes, and athletic administrators.
Physical Health and Safety: Supporting evidence-based practices that enhance injury prevention, recovery, and overall physical wellness within school athletic programs.
Best Practice Sharing: Providing guidance, professional learning opportunities, and tools to help athletic leaders implement proactive health and wellness initiatives.
The NIAAA Health and Wellness Committee encourages athletic administrators, schools, and community partners to engage in open dialogue, leverage available resources, and commit to a culture that prioritizes well-being alongside athletic achievement.
