LEXINGTON’S JOE ROBERTS NAMED 2018-2019 OHSAA BOARD PRESIDENT

Lexington High School athletic administrator Joe Roberts, CAA, has been selected to serve as the 2018-
2019 Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Board of Directors’ President. Roberts will assume
his one-year role as Board President at the August 8

th OHSAA Board of Directors work session.
Roberts is in his fifth year as athletic administrator with Lexington Schools. Prior to his present position,
he was athletic director at Lebanon High School for four years (2007-2011), athletic director at Campbell
County (KY) Schools for four years (2002-2006) and served as Kings Middle School athletic director in
2002-2003.

He is a 1993 graduate of Lexington High School and received his Bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration Marketing and Management at the University of Cincinnati in 1998. He received his
Master of Education in 2001 from Xavier University. He received his CAA certification from the National
Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) in 2005.
During his 16-year career as an athletic administrator, Powers has been recognized by his colleagues for
his service and success as an administrative leader. He was awarded the NIAAA’s State Award of Merit
and the Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association’s (OIAAA) Meritorious Service Award in
2015. In 2016, Roberts was recognized with the Citation Award from the Northwest District of the
OIAAA.
Roberts currently is in his fourth year of serving as a member of the OHSAA Northwest District Athletic
Board and recently completed his first term of service as a member on the OHSAA’s Board of Directors.
Since 2015, he has served as the NWOIAAA representative to the OIAAA Board of Directors.
