Parent Meetings and Presentations

The athletic director serves as the “face” of the school’s athletic programs and department. As such, the ability to communicate with the varied audiences who have a vested interest in the well-being and success of the athletic program is a necessary skill for success in the position. Hosting productive and engaging meetings with such groups takes preparation and should have a blueprint to follow. Student-athletes’ parents are certainly one key group with whom the athletic administrator should have clear and consistent lines of communication.

This section will provide examples of successful presentations and can be utilized to spur important conversations regarding the mission and purpose of education-based athletic programs for students.
